Career Opportunities at INFONEX

As a North American leader in delivering cutting-edge conferences and seminars, INFONEX is always looking for talented individuals to fill positions in Conference Development, Marketing, Sponsorship and Sales. We offer a stimulating, dynamic workplace environment, a supportive, dedicated professional team, and control over the style and direction of departmental efforts.

Conference Producer/Conference Developer (Full-Time)

Are you looking for a career that allows you the opportunity to interact with leaders in business and government? A position that allows you to deal with the trends and issues that are making a difference in business today? A position that gives you the chance to oversee a project, from start to finish, with significant control over its financial and non-financial success? If so, you may have what it takes to be a successful conference producer at Infonex.

Infonex is a Canadian leader in delivering cutting-edge conferences and seminars. Our conferences focus on a wide variety of areas, including business management, HR, accounting, public administration, finance and others. We are expanding and are looking for people to help spearhead this growth.

DUTIES

  • Initiating intensive phone research into leading business trends
  • Using your creativity and smarts to turn that research into a focused, leading-edge business conference
  • Identifying, winning over, and working with the experts and business leaders who will be speaking at your conference
  • Working with professionals in the rest of the company to see your conference successfully marketed and executed

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • You must be aggressive, confident, and intelligent
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills
  • You thrive the pressure of multiple deadlines
  • A superior ability to talk with people, understand their concerns and priorities, and translate those into a final product
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

In short, we're looking for results-oriented, entrepreneurial professionals who thrive on responsibility and are driven by the satisfaction of achieving personal excellence. A background in journalism, communications, marketing or public affairs would be an asset, but not required. Some of our best performers have come from other backgrounds -- what really matters is your attitude, your smarts, your ability to communicate and your willingness to get the job done. Ideally, you will have 2 years work experience under your belt.

Please note: this is not a meeting planner position.

Send an e-mail with a cover letter and resume to hire@infonex.ca. Let us know why you'd be the best person for the job and your salary expectations.

Conference Sales Executive (Full-Time)

We require immediately inside sales people to promote our events in the Canadian and U.S. markets. You will be in contact, by phone and/or e-mail, with business executives from all industries and all levels of government. The thrust of the sales effort is in qualifying perspective delegates as to their training needs and in researching who the proper contacts are for any given event.

You are intelligent, assertive, ambitious and team-oriented possessing strong communication skills with a sales or customer service background. Also, you enjoy working in a fun, dynamic and productive workplace. We offer plenty of training, support and encouragement. We value all our employees and management works very hard to ensure employee retention and happiness. We offer an industry competitive compensation package made up base, commission, bonuses and benefits.

You will be full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Our approach to work is not regimented: we do not micromanage our people, preferring to employ responsible, dedicated professionals and allow them to develop and prosper in their own manner (within reason of course!)

We are in need of dependable, hard-working self-starters. If you think you have the drive and determination to make a positive contribution to our company and are interested in personal and professional growth, then we are interested in hearing from you.

Contact Jim Kelly by email or phone at 416-971-4177 x244.
